The Quiet Strength Project – an Introduction

It’s interesting to me the way an idea takes shape in my mind and sits there for years only for a single moment to propel it forward.

That’s what happened here. I often tell people when they compliment me, “I’m just a girl”. It may come across as downplaying or humble, but really? It’s the reality. I’m just a woman doing what so many women before me have done. I keep my head down, I focus on the first thing that needs addressing and I quietly get through awful, catastrophic moments in my life.

Domestic Violence.

Stillbirth.

Divorce.

Career and Identity Change.

Loss of a parent.

Cancer Scares.

Hysterectomy (and all of the emotional baggage that comes with it).

I refused to stay stuck in the horrible of what happened. I knew that I could get through it and as I did I was building what would come next. I had clarity in the chaos.

I’m just a girl. A girl who rediscovered her strength. A girl who reclaimed her story. Now, I’m building a community to help others do the same.

Rediscover your strength. Reclaim your story.
